Skills enhanced with tailored procurement training

The Procurement Director was looking to build staff skillsets for handling a high-volume of strategic RFPs and RFQs. Simplar conducted multiple on-site and remote training sessions tailored to the City’s needs. Training topics included 1) market research, 2) scope development, 3) types of solicitations, 4) evaluation protocols, and 5) streamlined approaches for vendor interviews and product demos.

In addition to internal staff training, the City also engaged Simplar to provide training to the external vendor community. This included free training sessions for Women & Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (WMBE firms) on the topics of responding to RFPs, developing competitive proposal responses, and navigating the City’s procurement policies.

 

Simplar developed SOW templates tailored to the City's projects & established consistent evaluation criteria for the procurement staff to use.

Simplar conducted more than a dozen on-site training workshops across a 3-year period The City’s entire procurement team benefited from interactive training sessions, which focused on RFPs for professional services, scientific and environmental assessments, software implementations, and organizational change management.

Simplar provided 4 training sessions for WMBE firms develop their proposal skillsets These sessions trained 300+ members from more than one hundred WMBE firms registered with the City. This outreach resulted in greater WMBE participation in the City’s RFPs and RFQs.
